Principal's Message

Welcome to the Bridges Elementary webpage. Bridges Elementary is home to 500 children in 4 year old kindergarten through grade two, who are supported by a highly qualified and dedicated group of teachers and support staff. Our Bridges team works together every day to encourage and challenge our children both academically and behaviorally, in order for them to be successful learners. At Bridges we celebrate each child’s special and unique differences in our learning environments.

Bridges was finished being built in August, 2015. Bridges was designed to allow for mobility and flexibility as we embed our students in 21st Century Learning. This is learning that prepares our students to graduate and be effective communicators, collaborators, critical thinkers, and to be creative. This begins right away when students enter at the K4/K5 level. Learning spaces in Bridges include areas for collaborative group work, as well as independent work in the classrooms. Breakout learning spaces are in the center of each learning wing. These spaces again allow for independent, small group, or large group learning. Tables and comfortable seating, such as learning lounges are in the breakout areas. Smartboards, I-pads, and Chromebooks are also used in classroom and breakout areas. We thank our Sauk Prairie School District and community for supporting the referendum to build this modern learning space for our youngest learners!

Lastly, we have an active GSPie Parent Group, Grade School Partners in Education, who supports and reinforces our academic and social programs. Our GSPie partners know how powerful family engagement is in the process of educating students. This invested group of individuals strategically plans activities throughout the year to involve families, as well as to support our students and staff.

Sincerely,
Jamie Breunig
