Meet Speech and Language Pathologist Mackenzie Hayden!
Mackenzie is originally from Coal City, Illinois. She studied at the University of Wisconsin Madison earning a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Masters in Speech Pathology.
Mackenzie was inspired by both her parents who worked in education. Her dad was in school administration and her mom was a high school health teacher for 35 years. The joy and passion her mom had for job, made Mackenzie aspire to work in a school setting.

Some of our youngest learners had a lot of fun with the people who make the news!
Thanks to Vanessa Kjeldsen at WMTV 15 News and Mike from PBS Wisconsin for sharing your talents and equipment with Bridges students.
Vanessa, who is preparing a story on school lunch, let the students look through her giant camera and try out her microphone.
PBS Wisconsin, was preparing a story for their back-to-school coverage and let one of our students help get the perfect angle.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about how the news is made! Maybe we have some future journalists at Bridges!

Bridges Elementary is getting power from the sun!
The solar installation will generate half the school’s annual electricity - saving the district thousands per year and helping us reach our efficiency goals.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this project happen!
(In the third photo are 2 SPHS students doing a youth apprencticeship with Westphal & Co and are working on the project)
